How do I change the workflow or workflow step on a job?

Jobs in Lexacom are made on a workflow – this describes the steps through which the job passes on its way to being complete. In the ordinary use of Lexacom, jobs are progressed using the action buttons in the window or on the application bar.

It might be necessary for the job to be moved to a different workflow, to be changed to a later workflow step without progressing it through all the intermediate steps, or to be returned to an earlier step. This can be achieved by the author through their Tracking and Job Management View.

To do this, the author should:

  • Load Lexacom and log in
  • Navigate to the Tracking tab

  • Double-click the job in the grid to load this
  • If required, change the Current workflow dropdown to select the desired workflow

  • Change the Current step dropdown to select the desired workflow step. Note that only valid steps will appear here – if the job does not meet the requirements for a step, it will not show in this list.

  • Either:
    • Click the Save & Unlock button to save the change and make the job available to other users to load

or

    • Click the Save & Lock button save the change and leave the job locked to the current user (only the author will be able to reload this job)
