How To Set Folder Permissions
Please note: permissions can often only be adjusted by your IT Administrator or IT Support as the Lexacom Helpdesk do not have the access rights to make these changes.
To View Folders –
On Windows XP:
- Double click on My Computer
- Click on Tools, select Folder Options, and then click on the View tab
- Look for the folder icon labelled Hidden files and folders
- Click on Show hidden files and folders
- Click Apply and OK
On Windows 7 – 11:
- Double click on Computer
- Click on Organize, select Folder and search options, and then click on the View tab
- Look for the folder icon labelled Hidden files and folders
- Click on Show hidden files, folders or drives
- Click Apply and OK
To Grant Folder Permissions
Grant Full Control permission to Authenticated Users (or all Groups that contain users who will require access to Lexacom) over the following folders:
For each PC:
- The NDP (Shared Folder on the Server) where all the files are stored
Windows XP:
- C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Aprobrium
- C:\Program Files\Aprobrium
Windows 7 – 11:
- C:\ProgramData\Aprobrium
- C:\Program Files\Aprobrium, or C:\Program Files (x86)\Aprobrium (as appropriate)
To Set Permissions:
- Right-click on the folder
- Go to Properties
- Go to Security
- Click Edit and then Add
- Enter the security group Authenticated Users and click OK
- Tick the Allow checkbox against Full Control
- Click Apply and OK to all windows to save
